Today I head back to school. My unplanned "career break" this past year has forced me to look at other options for the remainder of our time here in the Netherlands. With the love, support and encouragement of my husband and family, I have decided to obtain my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. I will be completing the degree part-time through the University of Liverpool in the UK. This program offers a lot of flexibility since everything is done online, which means I can start now and continue my studies even if I find work or if we move again.
Am I nervous? Of course. It's almost been eight years since I last cracked open a textbook or wrote an academic paper. However, I'm excited to achieve one of my personal development goals and have something valuable to work towards over the next few years.
At this point, I'm not sure how my new life as a student will impact my blog writing capabilities. There is a very good chance I will be far too sick of writing to continue blogging on a regular basis. Alternatively, writing a blog post once in a while might be the perfect break from all the research and critical analysis in my near future!
