From Holland to the United States!

This poor blog has suffered from very little activity the past six months; however, it makes sense to post our latest news here since our "Dutch Way of Life" is sadly coming to an end.

In May, Chris and I will be moving again...this time to the United States! Chris has accepted an exciting new job with Microsoft and we will be moving to the Seattle, WA area with plans to settle down there for a few years (yes, I did say "settle down"!).

Our last two years living in Amsterdam have been simply amazing. We will never forget all this city and country has offered us: the joy of bike riding, the terrace culture, Spring in Holland, eating far too many deep-fried Dutch snacks, experiencing our first Queen's Day celebration, watching the Dutch football team reach the World Cup finals, welcoming visitors from back home, and many weekend trips to different European cities. Most importantly, we have been blessed with wonderful new friends who have made our time in the Netherlands so enjoyable and also make it so much more dfficult to say goodbye. We take all these cherished memories and friendships with us to the United States, where we also look forward to being back on the West Coast and closer to our Canadian family and friends.

Thank you to all of you - new friends and old - for your constant love, encouragement and support over the past few years. Remember, anytime you are looking to visit the Seattle area or the beautiful West Coast, you are always welcome to stay with us in our new home!

  1. That is an exciting development, Charlotte! All the best with your move and getting settled in the US! Congratulations to Chris on his new job! Just working through the re-location process ourselves so we definitely know how much work that can be! :-)
